Inside—what every German Shepherd owner wants to know:
Is a German Shepherd the right dog for me?
How much exercise does my Shepherd need?
Do Shepherds make good companions for children?
How do I choose the best food for all stages of my Shepherd's life?
What's the best way to house-train my dog?
Will my Shepherd get along with my other pets?
How do I teach my dog not to chew on the furniture and dig up the yard?

3 out of 5 stars Helpful but lacking revelations   March 13, 2002

Prety much your typical how-to for dogs book. I expected to learn more but it's pretty much a beginner book with lots of harsh and critical "do you really deserve a shepherd?" righteous indignation. I guess they figure you'd really buy a book about shepherds if you didn't have one???

Anyway, it's helpful but certainly not required reading.

This book is worth buying. It has many good tips and information of german shepherds. Lots of pictures of nice looking shepherds. Read it from cover to cover and use it as a reference.
